Thanks to all of our supporters, we have had a successful start to Saving the Queen! We have restored the façade, the lighting, and we have re-crowned the Queen.  We will soon have the roof replacement complete and will be ready to begin the interior remodeling!

We are also kicking off our next phase of fundraising and need volunteers to help with various activities throughout the year.  Activities such as planning events, contacting and working with event-specific vendors, participating in events, researching available government grants, and spreading the word about this iconic architectural treasure in Downtown Bryan.

St. Michael’s Episcopal School in Bryan is holding a fundraising run on April 15, 2012, to raise money for scholarships.  The race will include 5K and 10K courses which start at St. Michael’s on South College Avenue, with the 10K going through downtown Bryan.
Saint Michael’s is a school for children of all faiths and nations, providing a classical, college preparatory curriculum and firmly embedded in the Episcopal school tradition. We are committed to academic excellence and the growth of each child in learning, character, and faith, or as it appears on the school seal: Scientia, Pietas, Fides.
Come out and support the runners as they raise money for this great cause!

As Spring Break approaches, you may find yourself without childcare or school for the kiddos. Great news – the Children’s Museum of the Brazos Valley is hosting Firegator Fitness Boot Camp March 12th-16th! Learn how to have a healthy lifestyle, eat properly and be active! Camp is available for a full day 7:30-5:30 or half day – you can register at www.cmbv.org.  The cost is $40/day for members, $50/day for non-members for the full day program and $20/day for members $25/day for non-members for the half day program. Art Step is an art walk that coincides with First Fridays in March, June and November! Follow the footprints around downtown to find live music and dance, arts organizations and art demonstrations and exhibits- as well as shopping and dining and carriages rides and free movie (starts at 7pm)!
