Jazz 101 – Introduction to Jazz Improvisation
Join us every Tuesday from 7:30 – 9:00pm, February 28 – April 24, 2011
This class will provide an introduction to jazz improvisation in a guided ensemble rehearsal setting. It includes chord theory, chord-scale
relationships, basic chord progressions, and an understanding of the 12-bar blues form and fundamental music theory as applied to jazz
improvisation. The class is open to all musicians.
Rehearsals are structured with individual attention—music and material assigned based on student levels and needs.
Tuition: $260 for 8 week course and final recital.
Class is taught by Greg Tivis, assisted by Randy Watkins- both talented musicians with many years of experience
