Movies with Madden's at First Friday

Join us once again for First Friday fun! In addition to all the exciting art and music going on Downtown, we will show Thumbelina in Sale Park as part of our Movies with Madden’s series (weather permitting).

“A girl no bigger than her mother’s thumb feels all alone in the world knowing she is the only person her size. Her wish for a companion at last comes true when the prince of the faerys arrives at her window sill. However, the niave Thumbelina’s life goes downward from there when a toad kidnaps her. While she tries to find a way home, she begins to grow up and learns about hope with the help of the friends she always wanted.” Written byMax Vaughn

Bring a chair or blanket and enjoy this fun family film outdoors. Madden’s will be on hand with gourmet street cuisine. First Friday’s Movies with Madden’s is perfect for date night or a family outing. Come enjoy all Downtown has to offer. We hope to see you there!

Rock the Republic!

by Cassidy Barton on November 10, 2011

In 2009 five organizers came together to create a unique music and spoken word experience called Rock The Republic (RTR). RTR’09 was a three night event featuring over 100 acts of rock, hip-hop, folk, blues, indie music and HBO Def poets, with an attendance of just over 3,500.

In year two RTR returned to Downtown Bryan with an all new lineup and it’s unique blend of concert length spoken word poetry and music performances. Dancers, visual artists, DJ’s, rock musicians, hip-hop heads and slam poets came together for an exhilarating, uplifting and original event.

This year RTR is going back to it’s roots presenting an intimate two day music and spoken word experience in downtown Bryan. All the latest info here.
